ONLINE COURSES

Michael Ancheta
Director of Online Studies

Welcome to the VES online program! In an effort to further assist our students in reaching their academic goal, VES is now offering classes online. This program will benefit external studies students who would like to access their course lectures from any location, as long as a computer and internet are available. This program also benefits our residential students who may have missed a course and do not want to wait until it is taught live again. These online courses include the exact same lectures given in the residential course, as well as any audio/visual aides used by the professor, in an easy to watch streaming video. Your course syllabus, resources, and lectures are all available in an easy to access location online. All coursework will be also be submitted online, eliminating the cost of shipping. Online courses are available immediately upon payment, there is no down time waiting to receive DVD's!

The online program does not follow an academic calendar, and therefore, courses may be taken at any time and in any sequence unless there are stated prerequisites. All admission requirements are the same VES resident programs as well as degree program course requirements. The external studies online program is open to foreign and U.S. citizens without a residency requirement in order to graduate.
After you are admitted to the seminary, online students may complete their chosen major without a residency requirement. Each course will be offered via streaming video (or in some cases audio) lectures which may be completed at your own pace over a period of 120 days. For instance, a course begun on June 1st will be due (completed) no later than September 28th.

Each online course will contain the following elements:

♦ Course syllabus which contains course assignments
♦ Course instructions that offer special guidance
♦ Streaming video (or audio on occasion) lectures taught by VES professors
♦ Exam/quiz Proctor Form: (the students recruits a proctor for the administration of exams)
♦ Any pdfs, handouts, powerpoints, etc that are provided by professors

ONLINE STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ANY TEXTBOOKS REQUIRED FOR THEIR COURSES.

On occasion, your professor will require you to take a quiz or an exam. In order to fulfill exam assignments you will first need to submit to VES your downloadable Proctor Form which identifies a qualified individual (e.g. professor, pastor, counselor, librarian, teacher, educational administrator, or an individual employed by a professional learning center) who is a non-family member that will ensure accountability and administer and return your exam/quiz to VES for grading.
