SEMINARY SEAL

Veritas is a Latin word meaning "truth," since it is our goal to be spiritually and intellectually free (Jn. 8:32; 2 Cor. 10:3-5; Philip. 4:6) and relationally grounded in the Lord Jesus Christ as the truth incarnate (Jn. 14:6; 15:1).

The shield and sword remind us of the spiritual battle in which we are engaged, with victory being achieved only through faith in Christ (Eph. 6:16) and the employing of the Word of God respectively (Eph. 6:17; Heb. 4:12). It is also a reminder that the weapons of our warefare are not fleshly and carnal, yet they are mighty in God for bringing all ideas in line with Christ (2 Cor. 10:3-5).

The Book in the upper left quadrant of the shield identifies our uncompromising focus and dependence on the God-breathed (theopneustos), infallible, and inerrant Holy Scriptures for a godly education.

The globe acknowledges our firm commitment to proclaiming the gospel message, evangelism, and world missions.

The lamb refers to the humility of Christ with which truth must be pursued and conveyed to others.

The scales represent our unrelenting pursuit and defense of God's truth, measuring all ideas by diligent and careful comparison against the weight of Scripture.

The banner contains the seminary verse which reads "THY WORD IS TRUTH" (Jn. 17:17).

The seal contains various shades of maroon and gold which reflects the multifaceted nature of Christ's sacrificial death as well as recognizing His authority and majesty as the King of Kings.
